About Me

 Hello & Welcome!

Lass is the name, Miniature painting is my game!

I am a professional miniature painter, dabbling streamer and mediocre at best, table top games player from Norfolk, England!

I paint primarily Warhammer but I also enjoy painting a varied selection of other minis! It all started in 2016 when a friend took me into the Warhammer shop he had started working in. Warhammer was never something that had ever caught my eye before. I assumed it was "just a bunch of space men" and never thought I'd have the patience to paint on such a small scale. I've always been very, very arty, but miniature painting just didn't seem up my street you know? Anyway, I went for a look out of curiosity and to show interest in a friends hobby and now work. Well... turns out it was not just "space men" at all.

The "Age of Sigmar" side of the shop caught my eye... before I knew it I was picking up all of the boxes and staring in awe at these beautiful models. Sylvaneth or "Tree People" as I first referred to them as, were the ones I fell in love with. My first ever miniature I painted was a Sylvaneth Branchwych and after that I was hooked. I ended up with a whole army of "tree people" and began to learn to play Age of Sigmar.

Eventually life got in the way and the hobby took a back seat.

It was in 2019 when I fell in love all over again. Not just with Warhammer, but with my (now) Fiancé! While out and about in the city I asked him if he'd come take a look in the Warhammer shop with me. "I'm nerdy but not THAT nerdy" he said... (ha) but agreed to come in anyway. Just like me, he became hooked. I bought him some orks to try out painting and we started regularly painting and playing together. I found a passion for painting Nurgle, in all their disgusting glory & started to paint other miniatures, just for the fun of painting them.

I created an Instagram account to post my painted miniatures and connect with other people with in the hobby. It completely blew up and within the year I had gained 10,000 followers, made some amazing friends and learnt so much about this hobby of mine.  It wasn't long after creating my account that I was approached and asked about painting a commission piece. I couldn't quite believe someone wanted to pay ME to paint their miniature! I was honoured and agreed! I'll be honest I was very nervous but also extremely excited. It was a fun project (see my Projects page) and the client was over the moon. This then opened the door for more commissions. I never once advertised myself as a "commission artist" but they came in steadily. Obviously my art was doing the talking for me, which was an incredible boost!

I've since painted various miniatures for others & myself , including Warhammer, DnD, Metal miniatures and 3D printed minis! There are many more I'd like to paint too, such as busts and Malifaux! I also began streaming my painting which I really enjoy, especially hanging out with my wonderful, growing community!

This website was created with that in mind, community! A place to share my passion on a deeper level and hopefully help anyone new to this wonderful hobby find their feet, inspire, show more of the behind the scenes of my work (See my Tips & Tricks) share my thoughts with a regular blog, and showcase the art and artists that have inspired me each week. There will also be website exclusive giveaway's and competitions and if you've followed me and my work for a while and wish to support me, there is a subscription/donation page too!

I really hope you enjoy this space and that you stick around to see where it goes!

Happy Hobbying!

Love Lass x
